Kim Loomis
High School Reform Coordinator

Ms. Loomis comes to Las Vegas by way of California, where she started her teaching career. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in mathematics from California State University, Fresno and Master’s degree from University of Nevada, Las Vegas. She spent 10 years teaching high school mathematics and coaching soccer, before becoming an administrator.
Ms. Loomis has a passion for high school reform and thinking outside the box. She was one of the original staff who founded Virtual High School, even before it was a full diploma granting school. Believing online education is for everyone, she left Virtual High School for a time to work in Curriculum and Professional Development where she created and taught many online courses for teachers. She believes enhancing the learning experience with technology is a must in today's world and the tools are only going to get better.
On weekends, Ms. Loomis enjoys getting outdoors traveling and hiking with her family. She also enjoys reading and coaching youth soccer. |
