College Events Updates

September 24 & 25 – UNR Fall Preview

  • CCSD seniors and their parents are invited to learn more about the UNR campus and programs.  Admissions representatives, current students, faculty members, and financial aid representatives will be available.  In addition, there will be information on housing, scholarships, and the admission process.  Seniors are encouraged to bring a copy of their HS transcript to determine admissions status to UNR. 

  • This free event will begin at 6:30 p.m. at Gold Coast Casino, which is located at 4000 W. Flamingo Rd.  For more information, students/parents may call (702) 940-5416.

  • This program is held the last Saturday of most months. This event going to be held at 9:30a.m. at the Tam Alumni Center.
  • The On-Site Saturday program includes a campus tour, an opportunity to meet with an undergraduate recruiter, an overview of unlv.edu, and lunch in the dining commons. All interested prospective students and parents are invited to attend. RSVP at www.unlv.edu/admissions

October 2 – UNLV Senior Night 

  • CCSD seniors with 3.00 GPA or higher and their parents are invited to meet college representatives. Information on academic programs, scholarships, and financial aid is provided.

October 7 – Northern Arizona University Information Session 

  • CCSD seniors and their parents are invited to learn more about Northern Arizona University’s academic programs, campus life, admission and financial aid.  There will also be a complimentary breakfast served.
  • This free event will begin at 2.00 p.m. at the Hampton Inn Las Vegas, which is located at 4975 Dean Martin Road.  For more information, visit www.nau.edu/fallevents  You must RSVP by October 3, 2007 in order to attend.

 
October 9 – Purdue University Information Program

CCSD students and their parents are invited to learn more about Purdue University in Lafayette, Indiana.  Information on academic programs, admissions, financial aid, campus visits, and open houses will be made available.  This free event will be held at the Sahara Library (9600 W. October 10 & 11 – College Fair Plus 

  • The college fair brings colleges and universities from around the country to Cashman Field in Las Vegas to recruit new students. The event starts at 5:00 p.m. both evenings.  Visit www.ccsd.net/collegefair for more details. 

October 23 – UNLV Early Application Evening 

  • CCSD seniors who rank in the top of their class (3.6 cumulative GPA or higher) are invited to meet with an undergraduate recruiter, submit a UNLV application, and receive an admission decision immediately! Undergraduate Recruitment, Admission, and Financial Aid representatives will be available to answer questions.  This event will be held in the Student Union. RSVP at www.unlv.edu/admissions

Destination UNLV

  • Destination UNLV programs are designed to bring UNLV to the six CCSD regions. Seniors and their parents are invited to attend and learn about admission, financial aid, and academic and student life. Dates are scheduled throughout the month of October.   • This program recognizes African-American CCSD juniors and seniors who rank in the top of their class (3.5 cumulative GPA or higher) for their academic success. Students and families will enjoy a keynote address; a celebration reception; and chance to meet UNLV faculty, staff, and students. RSVP at www.unlv.edu/admissions.

November 9 & 10 – UNLV Rebel Round Up Open House:

  • The Rebel Round Up event invites high school juniors and seniors to campus for an academically focused open house.  Students and their families are invited to learn more about their academic college of choice and interact with faculty members and current students.   • CCSD seniors with a 2.75 GPA or higher are invited to fly to Reno to visit the UNR Campus.  Cost is $99 and includes airfare, shuttle service, campus tour, lunch, residence hall tour, and a visit with academic representatives and current UNR students from Las Vegas.

  • Students and parents are invited to learn the financial aid process from A to Z. It will be at 6:30p.m. in the Student Union. Participants will learn how to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as well as learn about the other resources that can assist in paying for college.
