Choosing Students Who Will Be Successful in an Online Environment

Students who choose to participate in courses with the Clark County Virtual High School need to examine their personal skills and aptitudes for taking a class from a distance. When recruiting students, look for the following qualities.

Look for kids who:

• Are independent learners
• Can manage their time efficiently
• Have good study habits
• Maintain good organizational skills
• Demonstrates average work in a face to face setting
• Have basic computer skills (ie, downloading, using email with attachments, web surfing)
• May need more of a challenge or want to take an extra class (AP® courses)

Overall, the staff of the CCSD Virtual HS believes that every individual who has the motivation and self-direction to take our courses will achieve success in our "any time, any place" virtual environment. Meeting the needs of our individual students is our top priority.
